Friendship Kids Ministry
Each of our teachers bring with them a unique set of skills and employs them in a way that makes learning about God enjoyable, exciting, and most importantly, directly applicable to the lives of today's children.
What can I expect when I arrive with my child?
When you arrive with your school-age child you can expect a welcoming family environment for both you and your child. Your school age child is welcome to attend a class or remain with you. We are a family integrated church and encourage families to learn about Christ and live life together.
If your child is dropped off to a school-age class, you will be asked to fill out a short Information sheet the first time your child attends class. This helps our teaching staff to better know your child and their specific needs. During class your child will be exposed to hands-on, life activities while learning about Jesus.
What classes can my school-age child attend?
- Life101 (Sunday School) at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays
- Girls' Class ages 6 - 12 years
- Boys' Class (The Pirate Monks) ages 6 - 12 years
- Wednesday Night Kids' Bible Study and AWANA at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays
What is Awana?
Awana (Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed) is an international evangelical Christian nonprofit organization. Our Awana program here at Friendship has one important idea as its mainframe: TheBible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, and all people are better for knowing what it says, committing it to memory, and living by it. We want our kids to know from the bottom of their hearts and souls that the Bible is the TRUTH. It is our map, it’s what gives direction! In a world that doesn’t know what’s up from down, or right from wrong, we are teaching our kids that there IS in fact absolute right and wrong and we can find our true North in the Bible. Therefore, our kids have AWANA books appropriate for each level of development to help them along this journey. And our kids also have AWANA leaders who are committed to making sure lots of fun is being had as kids experience Bible Study, Music Time, Game Time, and Awana Book time, each and every Wednesday evening.
