Frequently Asked Questions
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name,
I am there among them."
- Matthew 18:20
Welcome to Friendship! We want you to feel at home here. Our comfortable family integrated atmosphere supports that sentiment. It is our desire that you know God personally, grow closer to Him, and serve Him all the days of your life. We look forward to worshiping an awesome God with you.
What are your service times each week? When do you meet?
Sunday School is at 930 am (Life 101)
Worship Service is at 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday Night Bible Study 6:30 (during this time, there is Awana for the kids)
Where do I park? When you come to the church, you can park either on the side of the church along Porter or you can park in the lot next to the church. We have two entrances, and you are welcome to use whichever entrance is most convenient. The back (or side) entrance is handicap accessible.
What do you believe? First, you will definitely want to take a few minutes to get to know what we believe. To do that, go here. It's good, and the pulse of our church is to know Jesus and understand His word.
What should I wear? We want you to come as you are. Friendship is eclectic in this way. One person may be standing in ripped jeans and a t-shirt worshiping God, while the next may be in the latest 2-piece suit doing the same thing. Our pastor has been known to preach in casual jeans and a Woody Woodpecker shirt and flip flops, or sometimes slightly more business casual. We encourage modesty and that you wear whatever style you are most comfortable.
Should I bring my kids when I first attend? Absolutely! When you arrive you can expect a welcoming family environment for both you and whoever you bring. If you have children, they are welcome to attend a class or remain with you. We have Sunday School at 930 for all ages. During the service there is extended sessions for children up to age 5. However, some families keep all of their children with them. We are a family integrated church and encourage families to learn about Christ and live life together.
If your child is dropped off to a class, you will be asked to fill out a short Information Sheet the first time your child attends class. This helps our teaching staff to better know your child and their specific needs. During class your child will be exposed to hands-on, life activities while learning about Jesus.
I am not sure my kids can sit through service. Do you have something for them? As mentioned above, we do. During service, there are adults prepared to teach your child the story of the Bible in a way that will be fun and engaging...while still running around and getting the wiggles out.
I heard that adults get to have in depth study on Wednesday nights. What do the kids do during that time? Children 12 and under are involved in Awana where they sing, learn scripture that they will use for life, and just spend time enjoying camaraderie with other kids. The Youth meet (ages 12-17) together and dig into scripture as well.
What is preaching like at Friendship? Coming into worship service you never know what Pastor Jeff will do for the sermon. He has been known to bring props, create crafts, draw, and do just about anything to help the congregation left in his care understand the word of God.
God has given our pastor a heart for the people here at Friendship and his desire is that we become like Jesus is every way. His story-telling style of preaching bridges the gap between Biblical truth and how we live that out today. You will learn facts from the Bible and also personal application.
Who is on staff at Friendship? We have such an incredible staff. Learn more about them here. Better yet, come in so we can get to know you!
